The Crow and The Jar
Once on a hot summer day, a crow felt very thirsty. It flew here and there, looking for water. But it couldn't find water anywhere. All the ponds had dried up. After some time, the crow saw a jar under a big tree. It flew down to the mouth of the jar. But the jar had a little water. The crow could not reach it with its beak. Then the crow looked around and saw some pebbles. The crow hit upon a plan. It picked up the pebbles one by one and dropped them into the jar. Soon, the water came up to the mouth of the jar. Then the crow drank water and flew away happily.
Moral: Where there is will, there is a way.
কাক এবং পানির পাত্র
একবার গরমের দিনে একটি কাক খুব তৃষ্ণার্ত অনুভব করল। ওটা এখানে-ওখানে উড়ে গেল, পানির খোঁজে। কিন্তু কোথাও পানি পাওয়া যায়নি। সব পুকুর শুকিয়ে গেছে। কিছুক্ষণ পর একটা বড় গাছের নিচে একটি পানির পাত্র দেখতে পেল। এটি পাত্রের মুখে উড়ে নামল। কিন্তু পাত্রে সামান্য পানি ছিল। কাক তার ঠোঁট দিয়ে পানিতে পৌঁছতে পারল না। তারপর কাক চারদিকে তাকিয়ে কিছু নুড়ি দেখতে পেল। কাক একটা পরিকল্পনা করল। কাকটি একে একে নুড়ি তুলে পানির পাত্রে ফেলে দিল। কিছুক্ষণের মধ্যেই কলসীর মুখে জল এসে গেল। তারপর কাক পানি পান করে আনন্দে উড়ে গেল।
